Tag Archives: Meal planning Monday

Once again this week’s menu is dieting friendly and contains Slimming World values wherever possible.  I will provide recipes for the new meals 🙂

Now on to this weeks menu

Monday – Roast chicken, dry roast potatoes, mashed root vegetables and gravy.
Tuesday – Gammon, egg, wedges and beans
Wednesday – Cod in Proscuitto with tomato and new potatoes
Thursday – Meatballs and Spaghetti
Friday – Homemade sushi
Saturday – Out for tapas 🙂
Sunday – Barbecue

Lunches will mostly be salads or vegetable couscous this is because it WILL be warm. There is no excuse now Britain, it’s JULY

Except for today when it will be Chinese style chicken noodle soup because it’s cold – bah!

I’ve been on holiday! Then it was a mad few days with school trips, sports day and the household coming down with the The Dreaded Lurgy. I’m still suffering but have bravely ventured online to post this weeks meals. The emphasis is on healthy eating and simplicity this week as I am not sure if I will be up to cooking complex dishes.

I do fancy making a roast dinner on Sunday though as we have not had one in ages.

Now on to this weeks menu

Monday –Spaghetti almost Carbonara (dieting friendly recipe to follow)
TuesdayChinese style pork with rice and stir fried veg
Wednesday –  Sausage casserole with jacket potatoes and broccoli
Thursday – Seabass served with couscous (dieting friendly recipe will follow)
Friday – Steak with crushed potatoes, mushrooms, tomato and onion (dieting friendly recipe will follow)
SaturdayHomemade pizza
Sunday – Roast beef and all the trimmings 🙂 I may even share my Yorkshire Pudding recipe with you. Maybe 😉

Lunches will mostly be courgette and pecorino soup and roasted vegetable couscous.

I’m late again but I have an excuse – the sun is finally out and so I am catching up on work in the garden. That and spending one evening with my Dad to celebrate Fathers’ Day 🙂

Now on to this weeks menu

Monday – Out for dinner with my Dad
Tuesday – IKEA meatballs (once again 20% in my local store and I need more decking!)
Wednesday – Barbecue belly pork slices with bread and salad
Thursday – Spanish style rice and prawns
Friday –  Yuk Sun (Chinese style minced pork served in lettuce leaves)
Saturday – Breaded chicken sandwich
Sunday – Steak with wedges

I will also be batch cooking this week as we are going off next week for a family holiday and as it’s self catering I do tend to take a lot of pre-prepared stuff. There will be a post about this later 🙂

From Tuesday onwards operation healthy eating will commence. It should be today but there are a couple of problems with that (1) we had a chinese takeaway and there are leftovers that must be eaten for lunch today and (2) we are going to IKEA tonight as they have 20% off everything due to some people kicking a ball about in Europe or something?  Which of course means that dinner tonight will be meatballs. It’s The Law.

Now on to this weeks menu

Monday – IKEA meatballs 🙂
Tuesday – Roast chicken with garlic dry roast potatoes and veg
Wednesday –  Chicken and bacon risotto
Thursday – Gammon, egg and wedges with beans
Friday – King prawn and chilli pasta
Saturday – Minted lamb kebabs with pitta and salad
Sunday – Beef in red wine from the freezer with garlic mash

Lunches will probably be soup as it is like the very depths of winter here at the moment with no sign in the forecast of any sun any time soon. It is most vexing.

Meal planning Monday, on a Tuesday? Well it has been the Diamond Jubilees and I have been rather busy trying to get the garden sorted and generally doing what people do on Bank Holidays… spending far too much time and money in DIY shops and Garden Centres…

Now on to this weeks menu

Monday – So exhausted from the gardening I just about managed to throw some breaded chicken into the oven and we had Chicken Milanese
Tuesday – Burgers and hot dogs cooked on the barbecue, even if it is torrential rain and 100 mile per hour winds
Wednesday – Steak Marinaded in red wine with new potatoes and salad (hopefully cooked al fresco on the barbecue)
Thursday – Homemade Tuna Fishcakes
Friday – HM Chicken chow mein
Saturday – Tapas
Sunday – Barbecued chicken (or roasted if it rains)

Lunches will mostly be sandwiches as it’s  half term and I will either be gardening or out and about

Once again the emphasis is on dieting friendly meals.  I am also looking to have meals that don’t require too much cooking or can be done on the barbecue. All meals with a § sign can be cooked at least in part on the barbie We don’t get much of a summer so let’s make the most of it 🙂

Monday – Lamb leg steaks with new potatoes and green beans §
Tuesday – Chinese salmon and noodles (dieting friendly recipe to follow) §
Wednesday – Chicken wrapped in Proscuitto roast potatoes and spinach (recipe here)
Thursday – Pasta with cherry tomato sauce (dieting friendly recipe will follow)
Friday – Slow roasted shoulder of pork §
Saturday – Nachos with chili (diet friendly option to follow)
Sunday –  Beef in red wine from the freezer and gratin potatoes (recipe to follow can be made diet friendly)

Lunches will mostly be roasted vegetable couscous as per this recipe which I am really enjoying at the moment. It’s so handy having a huge bowl of it in the fridge just to dip into as you wish.

As promised this weeks menu is dieting friendly and contains Slimming World values wherever possible. Unfortunately by sheer bad timing it is my other half’s birthday this week which necessitates many meals out and the obligatory tea party so I will not be cooking much over the weekend. Such a shame 😉

Now on to this weeks menu

Monday – Chinese style pork steaks with noodles (dieting friendly recipe to follow)
Tuesday – Lamb Bhuna with rice (dieting friendly recipe to follow)
Wednesday – Cod in Proscuitto with tomato and new potatoes (dieting friendly recipe will follow)
Thursday – Meatballs and Spaghetti (dieting friendly recipe will follow)
Friday – Birthday tea with cake and sandwiches
Saturday – Out for dinner
Sunday – Out for a carvery lunch, crumpets for tea

Lunches will mostly be roasted vegetable couscous. This is fab as you can make a huge batch and it keeps for up to a week in the fridge. Varying the protein you have with it prevents it becoming too monotonous as does the fact that it can be eaten hot or cold. The recipe for this will also follow 😉

Is it my imagination or are Monday’s coming around much more quickly these days? At least this one is a Bank Holiday in the UK which makes a Monday much, much more bearable. Anyway if it’s Monday it must be time for this week’s meal plan.

Monday – Sausage and mash with onion gravy and baked beans. I am hoping to be out and about or doing fun things with the family and so wanted something very quick and easy.
Tuesday – The reduced section contained a huge pack of pork ribs which were just too cheap and tasty looking to pass by. So sticky ribs with corn, coleslaw and homemade cheese rolls.
Wednesday – At the request of my youngest son and because it meets this week’s fish component, home made fish, chips and mushy peas.
Thursday – Spaghetti and meatballs, a family favourite but this time made with pre-prepared meatballs rather than ones made from scratch.
Friday – lamb and mint burgers with flatbreads and salad. My take on the donner kebab 🙂
Saturday – Assorted curries and Indian side dishes from the freezer with home made naan.
Sunday – Roast chicken with all the trimmings.

Lunches will be bagels with ham and cream cheese as I bought reduced bagels and/or minestrone soup as I have plenty of veggies that need using up and minestrone is an ideal way of doing that, especially as I am carefully monitoring the amount of waste we have this week 🙂

What are your planned meals for this week?
